Do you live with a purpose?

All successful people live with a purpose in mind. I’m reminded of the song. “Do you know where you’re going to? Do you like the things that life is showing you?”

The Bible says it even more firmly. “Without a vision, the people perish.”

If you are unsure of what you want out of life you won’t be able to live with a purpose, and you will most likely never achieve anything of great value.

If you move through your life not knowing where you are and where you want to go, you will get lost. You may end up at a place where the only feelings you have are disappointment, depression and regret.

If you aren’t clear about what you want, and you don’t live with a purpose, you are sabotaging your own future. Once you determine what you want and where you are now, you need to chart a course of action to get you from point A to point B. What steps will you take to get where you want to be? Once you have the steps you need to take clearly in your mind, you will always be conscious of whether you are progressing toward your goal, or just spinning your wheels.

Having trouble defining exactly what you want in life? Try jotting down the first thing that comes to mind for each of the following questions, then circle the answer that jumps out at you as the most important one.

  1. What do you want to do?

  2. What do you want to have?

  3. Who do you want to be?

  4. Where do you want to go?

  5. How do you want to spend your time?

  6. What do you want to learn?

  7. Who do you want to meet?

  8. Who do you want to marry?

  9. How much money do you want to earn, save and invest?

  10. What will you do for your health?

  11. What contribution do you want to make?

Once you know what it is you want, you need to ask for it. Then start taking advantage of opportunities that come your way. You will soon notice that you live with a purpose, and before you know it, you will be achieving more and more success.
